Keystone correction

If the projector is not aligned at a right angle to the projection surface, the projected image will be significantly distorted. This is due to a physical phenomenon that can lead to impressive visual effects. If the trapezoidal distortion of the image is unwanted, an artificial distortion can be created in the gobo image to compensate for the original distortion. The projection now appears undistorted to the viewer. This process is known as keystone correction, named after the trapezoidal keystone in an archway. Keystone correction can compensate for distortions in the horizontal and vertical axes, up to a deviation of 45°!
